Schwarzpelz - Chapter 9 - Part 8
He is so saaaaaaaaaaaaaad.
And Calie is just worried about her immaculate lawn, can't have some random sobbing wolf ruin it! >:c
Been having a good time doodling pages lately. Problem is I kinda wanna have something for patreon this sunday but
I can't really come up with anything and would just rather sketch and finish more Schwarzi pages instead.
Anyway, hope you still like it

Btw, remember that at the page 29 of chapter 2 Schwarzi told us about a gate big enough for him to go through that has been inactive for centuries and on the other side there's a different and very dangerous world that nature has almost completely reclaimed it's place and there's not much of a civilization left? At this point I think Calie ended up building a portal big enough for Schwarzi to go through, leaving behind this dangerous world that's completely overrun by the giant beasts created from the fruits.
I just Realized that Calie and Celia have almost identical names. Perhaps Celia's father named her after Schwarzi's old friend who built a portal big enough for him to go through? Which would also explain why he turned her into a drifter like Calie? Considering his plan that was explained at the end of chapter 7, I think things are finally starting to make sense!
Wow, That's kind of heartless Calie. O.=.o
He's crying, mentally scarred and all. And all you can think of is how he is bleeding onto your lawn? O.=.o
I do hope that she'll be a bit more supportive after she cleans Schwarzie's muzzle. He needs and deserves support... ;n;

I actually have a question, since I just binged the entire series just now. Calie says she wants to get off the planet she's currently on to start a new life, but does it really matter? If she is the child of 2 drifters, doesn't that mean she's destined to become a beast when she gets old enough, regardless of where she's living?
Not that I can predict where the story and characters are going. But for the time being I appreciate the complexity and depth to your characters.
Both characters are alone and afraid. Of very different things sure, and are dealing with them in their own way.
Calie had probably spent most of her life running and hiding from these new titans. Fear and skepticism isn't overcome do to a few kind deeds. Besides considering she just woke up from a nasty nightmare where Schwarzy literally munched her, I'm surprised she's holding it together well enough to cover her tactical retreat with a 'you're messing up my lawn.' besides that the fresh kill and blood could easily draw in other predators. So cleaning it up isn't a terrible idea.
Where Schwarzpelz is coming to grips that he very well could be alone. The only sapient life he's found is absolutely terrified of just being near him. So he's trying to do what he can to show that he can help, just to have someone to talk to. And though he's probably got copious amounts of adrenaline and emotions going through him right now. Dropping a literal mountain of fur and fangs Infront of Calie was probably a little much. Even if it was with the best of intentions.
Sorry if I'm reading to much into it, and if I'm completely wrong. For the time being I just enjoy how the characters feel like characters.

It never crossed my mind that it was Schwartzi's own blood, I'm too used to his being an unbeatable killing machine! Have to remember that in his early days, he knew nothing about fighting, or what his new form's capable of, or how to not get traumatized when he kills something...
I wouldn't say she's heartless. she just seems to be coping with everything that happened around her in her own way. she's been surrounded by monsters for who knows how long and seen so many terrible things, that her sympathy for others probably got buried for quite some time. maybe being around schwarzy will help her open up again, but that's gonna be a slow process😊👍
