Every time I look at the 5 of Pentacles I feel like I saw it on the cover of a battered paperback somewhere in the early eighties...

The five of pentacles was the card from you deck that really struck the deepest chord in me. I was on the edge of buying the print back when you were selling them, and then life happened (as it so often does).
But, that said, I love this re-contextualization of it, too! The little creases and book cover flaws are awesome touches. I'd probably pick this book up in a heartbeat.

The flat colours do look something like some DAW book covers. But the subject is more in keeping with those 1950s mystery paperbacks. The '50s is too early for DAW, which only began publication in the '70s. (The initials stand for Donald A. Wolheim -- the publisher and SF fan from the 1930s.) The imprint needs to be Dell or something like that, I guess. I don't have any early mystery books (in original edition) to check. Other than that, PERFECT.
