This is my birthday gift to one of my best friends,
Ari-Dynamic, that is a tribute picture featuring many of his main mice characters from his multi-award-winning webcomic series, Keeping Up With Thursday, and his reboot series, Keep Up, that is a combination of two scenes from the 1979 Japanese animated film, Lupin III: The Castle of Cagliostro. Aaron is a major fan of the popular Japanese manga/anime franchise, Lupin lll created by the late Kazuhiko Kato a.k.a. Monkey Punch, and it has been influential for Keeping Up With Thursday. This picture combines two scenes from The Castle of Cagliostro where his tan male mouse character, Patrick The Thursday Thief, portrays Arsène Lupin lll driving his yellow 1965 Fiat 500 F while his grey male mouse character, Vinnie Edenton, portrays Daisuke Jigen reloading and shooting a PTRS-41 anti-tank rifle at an autogyro with enemy gunmen pursuing them, and during the final parts of the film where the tan female mouse, Beverly Junebed, portrays Fujiko Mine driving off in her motorcycle with Lupin driving his Fiat on the left side of her. This picture is supposed to replicate the style of the 1979 film.
Around the time of early Summer, Aaron gave me a copy of his Adobe Flash painting program and has been teaching me on how to use it to improve my digital painting skills and this picture is one of the first that I have practice using Adobe for. I already shown him the pencil-and-paper draft of this picture to him on his birthday back in August 22 and he was really grateful for it, and I have been coloring this picture for almost 2 months.
Patrick, Vinnie Edenton, Beverly Junebed along with the Keeping Up With Thursday, and Keep Up webcomic series are created and owned by Aaron Mocksing.
Lupin III is created and owned by Monkey Punch.
