At the time of purchase from Barry Scrapyard King Edward II was going to be little more than a spares engine due to one of its wheel sets being gas axed to the point of never making a turn again.
At the time wheel casting was something of a dead art until 1990 when a foundry was able cast a brand new wheel set.
