During a long period of depression, Aurora was confronted by a human she had thought was long dead. Many years ago, she had once been friends with two humans and their son Peter, but when another dragon attacked their town, she never saw them again. Until now, that is, as she quickly learned Peter had survived. But, given he was so young back then, he had forgotten about Aurora growing up, and had come with some companions to slay Aurora in an attempt to prevent dragons from ever destroying his town again. She successfully thwarted the attack, grabbing the human she once knew as a friend and scaring the rest off. Then, through some tense and emotional conversation, Peter found out his birth parents had once been friends with this dragon, and he left the cave making the decision to end his career as a dragon slayer.
Later, Peter returned to Aurora's den where he attempted to apologize. Aurora for the most part refused to accept the apology, but she still had the hope that maybe she could one day finally reconnect with someone she once knew. Peter's attempted apology gave her a spark of hope, something she had lacked for many long years. After Peter left, that spark gave her the motivation to finally do something more beyond the basic routine of survival. She went out to collect some dyes, and back in her den she began to paint on the walls. She began to finally express her emotions and her internal conflicts, thinking both about her troubled childhood and what had transpired in the past week. She finally began to break the façade of confidence and strength she held up for so long, and no longer tried to hide away from her own emotions and fears.
She finally began to have some hope for the future.
