No, but it does do screws. And what holds cabinets in place? Hinges and screws! Time to redecorate the TARDIS kitchen!
I'm wondering if the reason the sonic doesn't do wood is because it can't interact with living (or recently living) matter. I mean, we know it's a tool, and it's interacted with only a few organic beings.

*shrugs* It's a plot device. It does whatever the plot needs, except work on wood or deadlock seals.
There's a theory I've heard that a deadlock seal is simply a fancy name for a one-shot encryption lock, that the right device can "lay down" but can then only be unlocked by that same device, with no other one able to undo it.

Thing is, Chris was always a good doctor, and yes, it is a shame he quit so soon, but i will always think David was the best. I just find it a shame Matt Smith's doctor isn't so good, but i blame the writers, not him as an actor. Maybe we can get a furry Doctor Who comic going, eh? For the lolz.
And somewhere, "I am the Doctor" is playing.
AWESOME! I'd almost forgotten about this, but it turned out great! Thank you. :)

Nasty little trick pen there. Not only can it write, but it can cut through paper, to mild steel. It can tell you how far you are from something, and if one were to twist the end cap all the way to the end, and then violently whack it against the desk, two minutes later it goes off with the force of a 1/4 megaton device.
