One seemingly peaceful day in New Mobotropolis, a distress call from the Southern Tundra was intercepted by Nicole. Since Sonic was already out on an important mission, Sally quickly sets out to aid whoever is in trouble.

Upon arriving, however, she soon discovers that the distress call is actually a trap set up by Dark Egg Legionaries to capture any freedom fighter they could! Momentarily escaping capture, Sally flees into an icy cavern where she hoped to be safe. But unknown to her, the cave was another of MANY ice traps the Dark Egg Legion set up! Deep inside the cave, Sally's warm body set off a sensor that activated an above-head ice cannon that blasted the princess with a cloud of near-absolute zero vapor.

Sally tried her best to avoid the blast of ice, but it was too late: the extreme cold of the mist paralyzed Sally's body as she began to become encased from head to toe in ice; her body temperature quickly plummeting. A few minutes later the ice cannon ceased firing, no longer sensing any heat coming from it's target, and went back into standby mode. The icy vapor soon dispersed, and where the princess once stood now only an icy sculpture; solid, unmoving, & unable to feel anything save for the frigid sting of the ice that restricted her.

The legion never managed to find her, but neither could her friends, and so she will remain for many long years to come until chance will let someone stumble upon her.
