I had a chance to watch a farrier work. He took a straight iron bar and when he was done he had created a custom set of shoes for the draft horse he had there right down to punching the nail holes in it.

Would have thought it would hurt when he put the still hot shoe on the hoof to check fit but the horse did not react, smoked a lot though. A friend of mine that has horses told me doing a 'hot shoe' gives a much better and durable fit than the ready made 'off the rack' kind.

A good Blacksmith always makes hot shoes for the horse at least I didn´t see it otherwise.
And you have to remember the hoof of a horse is a thick nail so heat or the nails really don´t bother him or her.

nice.... i always want to smith something my self but the only thing i do with metal is making chainmails... wel sheets of chainmail... i'm planning to make this summer a chainmail vest.. than i only need a nice fursuit and make a good photo of it

but it looks cool and smithing or weaving (metal work) is fun work and you can see it in there faces they like it

thx... i didnt found a lot that i like just one but stil 40 or 60 USD... so i may look at school first they say there is a girl who is very good in this sort of stuf

but if she cant i may have a rusian comrade who may for free as far as i know but he aint the best but good
