The fact that she has swords and can promote into a Paladin is a reference to when the class first appeared in the fourth Fire Emblem game. There the unit can attack with swords, and they promoted into Paladins. They couldn't promote into Mage Knights until Sacred Stones, and Valkyries didn't show up until FE6.

Biography: Rosamond is one of the many 1/2 mermaids born to Junichiro & Palutena. She is part of the 3rd line of 1/2 mermaids being born a day just before Eurydice & Mitsuru were born. Like many of her siblings, Rosamond always hung around when her father had stories to tell, and he had no shortage of them either. One story inspired Rosamond to be an adventurer like her father is. Rosamond was one of the many who was quick to make up her mind on what she wanted to be as she picked up a book on the history of Troubadours. Even the ones from the Fire Emblem universe. After much study, Rosamond began learning how to use staves to heal her siblings, and then practiced learning how to fight using a sword. She proved to be a quick study in both areas, and showed a natural talent for light & nature magic, so her choices were expanded on. However, while she also showed a natural affinity for lances, axes proved too heavy for her to properly handle, so she gave up on learning how to fight with an axe. Even so, when it came time to learn how to fight on horseback, her first notion was to adopt a horse for herself, and she was quick to pick one out right away, choosing the healthiest mare she laid eyes on. And from there she named the horse Kakalina & the two bonded perfectly to the pont Kakalina was willing to let Rosamond ride her without fuss & would listen to her every command. In time, Rosamond was soon ready for the battlefield & so traveled with her other Fire Emblem themed sisters (Sans Eurydice who stayed at home at first) onto the continent of Gaia where she quickly became captain of a group of healers. However, one day, the Supreme Forces attacked Castle Gaia & forced Rosamond & the rest of her family to fall back after a futile attempt at driving the opposition back. Despite this, Rosamond quickly pledged her allegiance to the newly formed Gaia Alliance to help take back Gaia from the enemy, and she has also since been ready to help out the cause no matter what it may be. Rosamond is just as kind & caring as one might expect from those in Juni's family. She also has an extraordinary sense of humor as she can tell off amazing jokes & make old ones spiced up perfectly to get a laugh every time. However, she is known to be fickle at times. Especially when it comes to her jokes. An avid horse lover, Rosamond has been known to become enraged at anyone who would use horses for food, almost to the point of violence. If there's one thing that overshadows her love for horses however, it's an undying love for quicksand. The exact moment a pit is heard, Rosamond forgets about everything else & will throw herself into a pit of it should the moment arise. The best at playing the Erhu.
Abilities: As a 1/2 mermaid, Rosamond is capable of taking on her mermaid form at any point she enters the water, but prefers it to be fresh, or seawater, and clean water in general. However, to get that avoid/dodge increase the water gives to her 1/2 mermaids sisters, like any other who is a mounted unit, Rosamond has to dismount first when she is near any tile that represents water. Rosamond starts the party off being of the Troubadour class, meaning she is a healer on horseback. However, like the Troubadours of Jugdral long ago, Rosamond has access to swords in addition to using staves. As a result, she has equal growth rates in her strength, magic, defense, and resistance. Though her skill is 25% below those 4, she still sees a good amount of growth to it, but her growth rates in speed & luck are slightly better than her skill. Needless to say that she has high enough skill to start with a sizeable amount of SP, and be able to score plenty of hits with her sword & gain experience easier than other Troubadours can as she can actually protect herself before promoting. As a result of the training she did, Rosamond can either promote into a Valkyrie to add Light magic to her arsenal, a Mage Knight for anima magic, or even a Paladin to become more melee focused & gain access to lances. However, unlike most paladins, she will retain her usage of staves so she can retain her support abilities. As mentioned above however, Rosamond is not strong enough to use axes and so does not have the option to become a War Cleric. She also misses out on the Maid class due to preferring swords. Her starting weapons & skills are as follows.
Basket Hilted Sword: The personal weapon of Rosamond. This sword is unique in that when equipped, it grants a +8 buff to Defense & Resistance, and it stacks with shields. The blade itself can deal bonus damage to armored units as well. Being a personal weapon, it cannot break.
Steel Sword: A weighty steel sword that deals significant blows. Has 35 uses.
Slim Sword: A lightweight sword that's easy to use. It has a slightly improved chance to land a critical hit. Has 35 uses.
Lady Blade: Female unit exclusive. Deals effective damage to barbarian units. Has 25 uses.
Mend: Greatly restores HP to an adjacent ally. Restores [20 + (healer's magic / 3)] HP to one ally. Has 20 Charges.
Torch: A staff that illuminates an area for a short while. Has 10 charges.
Quick Change: Rosamond's personal skill. When an enemy initiates an attack against Rosamond, she will quickly switch to a random weapon at her disposal to counterattack if possible. She will always choose the weapon that has the advantage over the enemy. If not, what she will use is always chosen randomly depending on the range the enemy is attacking from.
Canto: Allows unit to move again after completing certain actions, if there is movement remaining. Does not activate after an attack, or using a staff.
Resistance +2: Increases Resistance by 2.
