Same here, though I was shocked by how brutal the fist book got at times, like when Constance followed Sela in the forest and saw her meeting one of Cluny's rats, yeesh that poor rat. Not to mention what Cluny had done to Sela and Chickenhound, no wonder the kit became Slagar. Anywho, yes Mr. Jacques was a brilliant writer no question about that, I've worked hard to try and be even half that good.
