I tried for decades. They were all failures, and I had to burn the room.

Harvey came ashore 10 miles from where i was at, sporting 140 winds and 6 ft surge. We didn't get the surge, but the rains and a funnel made a mess of the area. We were minus power for a week, and it took some serious tail-twisting to get the power company to come out and fix the broken utility drop. Fortunately, we were in a townhouse for that interval until we got power restored, so we were not suffering badly, just stressed from dealing with contractors and the cleanup. Read my journal on Harvey for more details. The entire area went through hell for several months of cleanup and hassles with the US gov't.

I like Hilde. She's definitely up there in my favourites list of your ladies.

Glad you survived Ian, a few years back I had relatives on the gulf coast whose house was destroyed to the foundation. Totally gone. Those storms are fickle…

Hey Jay, glad you survived Ian! We got hit with it as well but it was a strong tropical storm by the time it got to our area of NE florida. Lost power twice about a hour each time, lots of limbs down and some road flooding.
