Moki are sizeable kangaroo-like creatures that inhabit a variety of biomes including forests, deserts, tundras, and mountains. They tend to be reserved, communicating individually or as a group. Moki are open-minded and do not discriminate, preferring to work together for a better and more consistent life. These creatures are notorious for their constant smile, which is due to both their facial muscles and their happy-go-lucky personality. Moki are omnivorous, but prefer to consume plants and fruit to minimize disruption of the food chain due to their high population density.
There are regional variations of moki with differences in color, size, and form, but all behave in a similar manner. Moki likely embody the concepts of curiosity and evolution, exploring anything they can simply grasp and are highly intelligent, eclipsing the IQ of domestic animals. Their extreme adaptability allows them to adjust to any biological, economical, or instinctual changes of almost any scale, making them (ironically) a formidable and dangerous species. Given their sexual orientation, the moki have no specific gender. However, they asexually reproduce offspring by laying eggs, something uncharacteristic of mammals but is an occurrence nonetheless.
Though moki are unable to speak human language, they are modest learners and can be taught to carry out simple tasks such as babysitting, cooking, cleaning, organizing, and general support. Although small in size, moki are often hunted by predators in the area. When being hunted, they become observant and feign ignorance, analyzing the situation and attempting different tactics for survival. Moki are generally harmless and docile, rarely attacking other creatures unless influenced or given clear reason to do so. They prioritize self-defense over offense, but are just as willing to use offensive measures if necessary. These creatures are driven by perpetual curiosity and fascination.
