Guess what, long-winded text time !!

Elyssia Tr’iere, a gifted mage in the craft of conjury and white magic is as fierce in the field as she is in the battle of wits and words. Full of herself to hide the weaknesses of her edges, she is a menace to many and friend to few but her heart is loyal when tamed. Always reaching for greater heights, she is a font of determination to continue proving to others and herself that she is a storm not to be reckoned with.

A gifted child, she grew to be full of herself early on and began to hide her feelings if they ever leaned too far into territory considered less than confident. She leaped at the chance to study under the Gridanian Conjurer's Guild when she came of age around thirteen. There she was a big fish in a small pond and bloomed under acclaim and flattery for her skills and seeming maturity...until she was assigned to mentor another fledgling conjurer, Quinnen Talian.

E-Sumi-Yan took her under his guidance as the Seedseers took Quinnen out of pity and out of duty as he had always been honest in his distaste for Elyssia and her mannerisms but noted her triumphs and skill.

Humbled somewhat, she continued to grow into the woman she'd become, a glass canon of efficiency, technical skill, and wit crafted around a fragile crack of loathsome feelings she'd rather swallow down than deal with. Still fierce with a silver tongue and sharp mind, she has no qualms calling in favors to her family house for an advantage. Despite the turbulence, she has begun healing and moving past her jealousy for Quinnen since their falling out after the Dragonsong War and reuniting in the Resistance against the Garlean war effort in Gyr Abania.

Ready to lash out at any who would turn an ill eye upon Quinnen, she hasn't explained it as such but Elyssia pledged herself to protect him and his desire for defending the realms. She would sooner sacrifice herself to keep Quinnen alive, not merely as atonement for her past harms but her dedication to his cause when she could find none for herself. "The world isn't worth saving without him in it." she steadily feels.

Elyssia is a very important character of growth for me considering all that she's been through in revisions and experiences and development experimenting. I finally managed to make a character with less than desirable traits and still love her, and I wanted her to have complicated feelings and thoughts for herself and others while still relating to her. I kinda explored a lot of my own inferiority complexes with her, though she's still far more driven and accomplished than I could ever be lol;; But I really love Ely a lot :> And she's also super cute and fun to take seriously and not so seriously
