I don’t enjoy in furry comics how lack / bad communication is handled. So hopefully I’ll surprise you with the why and how it’ll resolve. I think even with good communication, conflict can still happen. I’m not going to drag it out in comparison to maybe other comics you’ve read. But...I think communication especially in regards to sex is something I struggle with to this day. Basil still has anxiety — it’s just not AS bad as in issue 01 atm because Abe is so comforting / validating to him regardless of the misgivings.
I mean — sometimes communication can’t really get you out of a problem. In Carolina’s case it can’t — it’d probably destroy her friendship with Basil in the long run for a number of reasons if she told him her boyfriend hates him because she bitches about him to her boyfriend...
And Laguna knows about her alcoholism, but that’s not helping since addicts have a hard time admitting relapse. Ruby and Abe did talk and it didn’t work out the way she wanted. Communication isn’t always the end all be all. Sometimes people just don’t gel or what they did is a big enough mistake to have the walls come crashing down on them. In Basil and Abe’s case — it’s interesting what happens once they communicate.
