Yes, I realize I'm a week late, but it happens. Anyway! This is it. This is the story I've worked on for so long, only to finally decide it's really not viable. It's very long and will take me some time to post (I'll most likely post two chapters per week), but I hope you stick with it, because despite its many flaws I do have a fondness for it and think it's pretty good.
And this is the opening. I don't think I did the archaeologists' 'excitement' very well, really, and the method I used to call out the date and location was very, very clumsy. But I think (and hope) that this chapter draws in the reader pretty well, as that's what opening chapters are supposed to do, after all. :P

you watched "Dragons: A Fantasy Made Real" again didn't you XD
it's not pseudo-science, it's hypothetical-science astrology (not to be confused with Astronomy) is a pseudo-science. but the ideas that they proposed for things like, say, how dragons were able to breathe fire, were very insightful and made perfect sense. The habits and the general notion that they weren't sentient beings, but wild animals, wasn't favorable for those who role play a Dragon(s); There's no denying that.
