Thanks! This painting was indeed influenced by him, though I'd say it was equal parts Shag and Gay Purr-ee.
All the time! This was just my first attempt at it. I'd like to do more in this vein, but if there's one thing I learned from doing this painting it's that I need a lot more practice!
I was lucky enough to have seen an exhibit of Shag's originals a few years ago, at a gallery that was just a couple of blocks from my work. Many of his pieces were painted on wood panels and there was also some of his "interactive art", like The Wheel of Fate (on the right). Brilliant stuff.
P.S. Thanks for the watch. I've said this before and I don't mind repeating it: I think you, agoutirex and technicolorpie are three of the funniest artists on FA. Keep up the good work!
