It's impressive how many there are for what seems to be a little crossing.

Good question. It used to be a parallelroad to the road to the right. The parallelroad continued as a bikeroad. However, to the left is a buildingsite where the big asphalt road is leading to (right to left). The bikeroad has been altered as well, the reddish road with the trafficlight and the stopsign.

The trafficlight is neccesary as a lot of concretemixers pass per day. It's not clear to me WHY the bikeroad had been altered back then, but there must have been a reason for it, good or bad. The fence with the arrows on it has been flattened a couple of times already.

This explain that.
Anyway it make a good subject for a picture, and you made a very nice job taking it with this sky for background (or using this place as foreground for this rainbow pic, depend on point of view)

Well this is the view from my home. And with my current camera it was like "Hey, a double rainbow!" *grab* *CLICK* Gotcha!
