A new little set up I put together.
I when I first moved to the new house I've been really busy for quite a long time and I've been dragging my feet when it came to actually setting something up and when I have been blacksmithing I've been doing it sitting down.
Sitting down has actually been something that limits me from making certain things.
The size of this forge is rather limiting as well, so I am also slowly working on making another forge right next to this one, it can be sort of seen. The washing machine casing is what acts as a shield against the elements for a new coal forge I intend to make. I need to continue lining it with clay and soon I need to buy some material to make a larger anvil stand.
Slowly, but surely, I'll be able to make larger projects.

That forge isn't really suitable for forging. Those guys know more about the history, but not so much the method.
Actually I watch quite a few of their videos, especially the blacksmithing.
I've noticed that their forge doesn't heat the steel up to proper temperatures. Most instances I see it as a dull red to a greyish red. Sometimes a bright red to an almost orange.
Forging steel and iron requires hot colours much brighter than that to bring the iron/steel to a malleable state.
Bright orange to a yellow for steel and bright yellow for iron.
