"If it ain't broke, don't fix it." This is something I can wholeheartedly agree with. That's why I usually commission a person with whom I've worked in the past. Up until 2021, this happened with only two creators: Yukamina-Plushies, and with a dakimakura and a fully-shaded image of my OC, Rachel 'Dash' Dashner. And now, renowned furry/pony artist, , is joining this 'elite club' - with the masterpiece you're seeing now.

Back in 2019, Yakov already made me a gorgeous picture. Even then I knew that one day I'd like to have him create another image with Dash as another Patreon reward. Although he usually prefers selecting Patrons with brand-new ideas, we agreed in 2021. Compared to our first occasion, this 2021 job was easier - I hope ^^; - because I had a pretty clear idea about Dash's position, her surroundings, etc. Naturally, I had to make some compromises along the way - as always - but the thing that counts the most is the end result.

As I said about my previous commission made by the wonderful Akeahi, I'm perfectly ok with how an artist interprets Dash - as long as they nail her character. And Yakov did just that.

This picture here is 100% Dash; the introverted, 16-year-old deeragon girl who wants nothing more than to be left alone in a remote place (an attic), lounging there in her Ferrari-patterned pajamas, sipping some tea while listening to some soothing music. Yes, it's weird, especially that she uses a Walkman; heck, some of you weren't even alive when that was a thing! ;P But you know what? I can totally picture her doing that; being a sucker for cars, old and new alike, it's fitting for her that she tunes out with a Walkman—a simpler device from simpler times.

And this is the reason why I adore Yakov's works. He somehow always knows how to make each of his pictures full of emotions, and, most importantly, unique. I never said to him that the image needs a walkman; or that Dash should have a mug in her hand with tea in it. But it's these details that really make Dash come to life. And that's why I can't stop adoring this picture.
