Before the Worgen Curse came to light, Oscar was living as a writer and poet within the confines of Gilneas City Prison.
He was alleged to be serving time for the charges of "sodomy" and "gross indecency", which were later found to be false claims.

Oscar is one of many who were cured of the Worgen Curse by Alphus Wordwill, a Dalaran mage studying the effects.
His mindlessness from the curse may have gone, but the transform ability is still there to defend himself against "the Forsaken, the Scourge, and other evil powers."
He is also rendered somewhat immortal, living so long as the Scourge exist.

Leaving his past far behind, he sought the help of the Night Elves to broaden his fighting skills; transforming himself not only into a Worgen state, but to Beasts as well.
He is now known simply as "Wyldemane" and lives to serve the Alliance in the battle against the Scourge.
