I'm not sure. I don't think it's a grinder, but it doesn't look like any ballast groomer I've ever seen either.

What this unit does is it is like a ballast regulator which grooms down the road bed so trains can safely pass over it once open.

I knew LORAM had the grinder but the groomer? No,

This would be a Switch Grinder. It grinds what the Main Line Grinders can't such as switches and some crossings.
