If you are in a dungeon and a mummy (or any curse giving foe) manages to put a curse on you, you aren't in need of a priest, or a temple's aid to lift it. You could potentially pre-make the tea, and put on a cursed ring, and drink the tea at the same time. If the item is cursed, you'll know it but it will slip off from you, and not stick to you like glue. Risky, but useful.
