The first piece for my Ladies of Arda portfolio, this is Goldberry, played by
's Calliope. :)
Goldberry was Tom Bombadil's wife in The Hobbit - A Maia river spirit and daughter of the Old Forest. She is described as having long golden hair and wearing a green dress, with a crown of flowers and surrounded by water lilies.
If you'd like to get your female fursona or character into the portfolio, details can be found in this journal: http://www.furaffinity.net/journal/1980006/

Oh, she looks beautiful. I love her long, golden hair, and her outfit is very elegant for being so simple. I really like the background, too. You always put so much detail into your art, and it never fails to impress me every time. With all those flowers, and the little dragonflies down in the corners, it's a very peaceful, soothing sort of piece, and a nice reminder of spring. I've been looking forward to seeing what you were going to do with this portfolio, because I know it's going to be fantastic, and this is a really nice start.
"Here's my pretty lady! Heres my Goldberry, clothed all in silver green and flowers in her girdle." ~ Tom Bombadil
I always wondered if she had always existed and is as old as the Demi-god Tom but they don't Tolkien never went into much history on Tom and Goldberry other then telling how old they were.
This is beautiful.

Well, after I read it again the other night, it seems to me, since Tom keeps repeating "Tom is Eldest" he almost has to be a Valar, if not the creator in human form. I suppose one will never know for sure. Need to do some more research to see if anyone else has come to this conclusion or not.
