Hello everyone, once again hehe
This second birthday gift was made by the amazing Roti Lionov, a good friend and amazing artist on Discord as an idea on the famed Rain Silves. We joked on “seeing canon Rain fire a machine gun. Roti brought it to life!
This depiction of “Rain with a Gatling gun” has a bit of lore connection to the actual “Project_Animalia” canon, or at least for the space age. How exactly? Well…
Planet Tal, exists within the Animalia universe. While we focus on Planet Animalia in “Project_Animalia’s” space canon, Tal still exists, and heavily resembles it’s counterpart from the canon “Vilous Universe”. But unlike the canon Tal, this AU version has seen some rapid advancements during it’s war against the south, including a wider array of firearms, which could be easily operated by Rain’s forces during it’s war against Gold Ring.
Anyway, he’s some Lore about Animalia’s “Planet Tal” and context behind this amazing piece
In the year 2093, 10 years after the completion of the A.S.-E.V.-335 “Dakota” and the expansion of the Stellar Federation began to get strange readings from a very dangerous segment of space. These readings came from an unidentified planet, so in order to traverse it safely, a Venture class ship, “A.S.-E.V.-7621 “Centurion”” was send through the dangerous sector to investigate it. The ship was equipped for traversing the dangerous sectors and the crew, composed of 81 Sergals , Nevreans and Foxes thought it was just a routine mission. Upon reaching the planet, the Captain of the Centurion documented the planet as to having a “variety of alien and even animalian lifeforms living on it’s surface” when observing and studying it from afar.
The planwt had a massive salt water, lake, 2 brightly lit cities, a massive desert and a variety of unknown alien forests
Upon a further more detailed scan of the planet, they concluded that the indigenous plants on the new planet they named “Tal” are very dangerous to both Sergals and Nevreans and that they should beam down with caution.
An away party made out of 20 members decided to firstly beam down and explore the salt water lake, the desert and one of the forests. Upon reaching the planet’s version of “Gold Ring”, they were shocked to discover that the people living there were Sergals and Nevreans. This was perfect as the away team successfully blended into Gold Ring’s population and studied the people and the city, learning the culture and everything that was to be learned for the past few months. They began to also spend time in the Salizane desert, further studying the life there. However, as they aproached the Shigu border, the away party came in contact with Talyxian creatures in one of Tal’s many forests, and struggled to fight them. To their luck, an amazing sight unfolds before them, as several dozen Sergals, wearing Shigu colors, banners and even Rain’s famous “Blood Trails”attacked and killed the creatures they were facing. This allowed the away team to successfully escape.
Once back on the Centurion, and after a short pause, the away team returned to the planet, this time beaming down in the middle of the Shigu Capital, in order to contact the Shigu Sergals that saved them from the “Talyxians”.
However, the War against Reono, and subsequent invasion of Gold Ring led to a horrific discovery. The away team, now disgusted as Traditional (Canon) Shigu soldiers, joined the army to see what the war and tension was about. They were HORRIFIED, at the brutality of the Shigu in combat, not used to the violence and destruction. On Animalia, they did have technology, true. But the 5 year war wasn’t THIS violent…Or maybe it was, but considering they never saw traditional old combat, the gruesome sights were enough to scare anyone for good. They knew their nations on Animalia would never order something like this. To their horror, as they watched a typical assault upon a village in Reono, the famous General Rain Silves, the figure of heroism and courage, the symbol of hope and loved came to the aid of her troops.
They were shocked to witness the scene in the artwork. A very excited Rain, firing what seemed to be an old Gattling gun.
Immediately they beamed up and reported the findings, and soon, the shocking report not only came to the ears of the Stellar Federation, but to Rain herself, back on Animalia. Rain was shocked to hear a counterpart of hers lived on another planet, ans even more so terrified by the thought that in another world, she was the one committing atrocities.
This led to her ordering a complete lockdown of the planet, orders which were listened. While the Stellar Union of Animalia didn’t intervene to stop the attack on Reono and Gold Ring on planet Tal, it was deemed wiser to leave the planet to it’s own resources, as they estimated that Tal’s Shigu would eventually collapse. And it did….

I love the picture of Rain with a Gatling Gun, as the drawing shows. Had the original Rain had the gun during the war against Gold Ring, I think they would have been forced to capitulate much sooner.
The illustration of the gun is understated, giving it an almost playful feel, as Rain would have probably found the gun to be as much a toy as a weapon.
I could imagine the Gold Ring Soldiers thinking Rain would invade them with traditional weapons, but they would be shocked, and many would scramble about in fear.
If I was a soldier and I saw a shiny weapon such as that shredding all my men like that, I would flee to avoid becoming another victim of such a weapon.

Since Tal experimented with firearms, they did implement some at a small scale, but we know Sergals can’t aim (in the canon Vilous universe). In Animalia however, since it’s a ww2/Cold War scenario in the 5 year war, they had the tech to improve their rifles, and Sergals were deadly regardless.
In my canon of Tal, and in Animalian version, they implemented these Japanese Hand Cranked Gatling guns which required little to no aiming. But the small caliber would hardly dent the ceramic armor.
