I made this for a friend of mine. I'm really proud of it, so I wanted to share it.
The shaft of the wand is pine, from a local tree that gifted me quite a few branches after a summer storm. While working it, it smelled divine.
The crystal at the tip is just a regular clear quartz terminated pointy boi. I carved out an appropriately sized hole and attached the crystal to the wood with a strong glue. To hide the junction point, as well as the glue, I used moss. It gives it a very earthy foresty feel.
I left bark on the handle portion of the wand, but carved out a few spaces for runes that my friend asked me to put on it. The runes were inscribed using a pyrography tool with a fine tip.
To finish the wood, I used a mixture of herb infused oil and beeswax. The olive oil was infused with mugwort, patchouli, sandalwood, chamomile, myrrh, dill seed, and juniper berry. It has a very earthy, lunar, feminine armoa, and is not floral or heady. Applied to the wand, you can still smell the pine through the oil, interestingly.
I also made the oil into a salve for the recipient of the wand. And I made incense from the same herbal blend that I used in the oil.
:D I hope she likes it all!!
If anyone is interested in commissioning me for wands, for either spiritual use, or as fun props, please let me know. I do take custom orders and will try to make something that works for you.
I do not have a lathe, though, so don't expect perfect, straight, turned sticks, Harry Potter style. Not knocking it, they look fantastic. It's just not something I currently am set up to do. But I can try my best to replicate many styles.
I'm at my best when I'm given some general guidelines, ideas, and concepts, and am allowed to create my own piece with it, though. Like this one. :)

:) No probs! (I'm in the same boat, hehe... kinda sucks. But, it is what it is.)
Thanks so much for checking it out anyway. If you ever end up feeling like you want a wand, lemme know. I sent this one out for free, the recipient is just covering the shipping costs.
Especially if it's for spiritual use. It's a labor of love, honestly.
But yeah, if it's not for right now, maybe some other time :D It's totally cool. Thanks again!

Looks good, nice work 👍
But to make it you used glue, right? On one hand, leaving esotericism aside, it would be better if the place where the stone comes from is thicker/larger than the stone in order to make the stone embedded in the wood and that it is only supported because the wood embraces/supports the stone. So it would look less artificial, less toy or ornament. And that green thing on it... is it artificial plastic grass?
And on the other hand, getting a bit into esotericism, I don't think it's good for the flow of magic that there is glue interfering with the natural elements. What you want with stones and wands is to transmit and channel energies, by which you want nothing to interrupt the flow of that energy but everything that is there supports or encourages that flow.
In my opinion this would be a better work if you had attached that stone with copper wire, perhaps making it like a net that covers the whole wand, not just the stone, it could be interesting (better with wire of some gold alloy, but of course, it would be very expensive 😅).
Or if you had looked for the branch or trunk of a vine plant, bush or tree. In this way you could take advantage of the curves and turns so that this branch hugs and wraps the stone itself (the ideal, obviously, would be to raise/mold this yourself over the months, keeping your access to such a plant). Though something like this would be easier to do with larger stones, on a scepter or staff.

it's dried moss, not plastic. Yes, it's real plant matter.
And yeah, I could have used animal bones and collagen to make a glue, but someone could have complained about how that's cruel to animals. I don't want to interfere with the natural growth of plants, nor do I have the space to do so, so I don't coax them into weird shapes just to be aesthetic or conform to what would be capitalistically beneficial.
TLDR: Please don't try to gatekeep or act as though my practices are lower than yours because I am using *gasp* GLUE.
You have no idea what other practices I do, what else goes into the creation of my items. And the fact that you'd come in here just to try and shit on me over something so petty??? The audacity.
I really do not appreciate your tone and attitude, even if you think you're giving me "constructive criticism". This isn't constructive. This is you giving me your opinion on what looks good and what doesn't.

Is it appropriate to talk about the invocation of specific entities on FA? Is it appropriate to discuss meditation and all the things that come along with it? Is it appropriate to theorize whether spiritual energy is capable of flowing through matter like glue, even though it is produced using items that come from this very planet that I hold dear and worship, and consider every single molecule that comes from it a part of it? Animism isn't concerned with things like glue.
Can you explain what spiritual energy consists of? I can't. Unfortunately. lol. So, I can't test if it can go through plastic or not.
But, my guess is that it's close to photons, and those are capable of traveling through any type of matter, any distance, in any direction, in waves, and vibrations. are they a wave? are they matter? What does it matter? It's light. :D
