My guess is that either she expects this playful banter is just a repressed argument waiting to happen or she doesn't know how to deal with parents who ONLY banter (ie, she's expecting to be hit and doesn't know what to do when she isn't).
Or maybe she got triggered by the GF shouting to get her attention.
