Early Kaiju Post: Due to the emergency of the imminent impact of (to be Hurricane) Tropical Storm Fiona today, I'm posting the two Monster Monday pics now.
Nerogiras was the 9th Kaiju in the Fireman Roster and Monster of the week in Ep.9 of the TV series, A Challenge from the Deep Sea.
_Bio and Abilities_
Quick Note: while 3 other Kaiju are seeing, these will not be added into the Roster, mostly out the fact as 2 were already dead, Rodoguros and Stegorus, both torn to pieces, while the 3rd, Gudon, is an Ultraman Monster making cameo.
Nerogiras is among one of the most strongest and violent Kaiju seen in the Fireman Series, supposedly identified as a Stegosaur (no, not making that up, it is ID as such), with many fans comparing him to Ultraman's Redking; Nerogiras came from deep the Earth following an Underwater Eruption and goes on a rampage leaving a trail of Dead Kaiju torn to pieces, this is mostly because the animal is a carnivour and will only seeks substance and protein from the body of other kaiju or human (as he killed a Professor later on). Nerogiras is referred as the Hit man Monster.
Nerogiras had a very considerable build body, product of ages of fights with other Kaiju; it was grey/hue-ish brown in color adorn with a curve horn on top; it had blood red color eyes and sharp teeth. Besides its considerable strength, the Beast sprayed a stream of Blood to blind its enemies momentarily and would use its tail a whip or rope, as well was an adept swimmer. It's Roar was modified from Gamera's Roar.
Footage of Fireman's battle with Nerogiras is re-used later in Ep.16, as Aliens study Fireman and learn his identity.
_History_
When an Underwater Eruption causes underwater communication signals to be lost, SAF sets out on the Marine to fix the issue; doing so, leads to the discovery of the torn up body of a Ancient Kaiju named Rodoguros, suspecting the culprit is close, is not long before they find the Stegosaur Carnivour Kaiju Nerogiras dismembering the body of either a 2nd Stegorus, or quite possibly the Corpse of the 1st Stegorus from Ep.3 and 4. SAF decides to take the Beast down, but their action only angers the monster, tossing them the Stegorus carcass and hitting the Marine causing Damage to the sub; SAF retreats on time and escape while deploying depth charges at the beast.
Afterwards, they seek out the advise of Misaki's mentor, Professor Tadokoro - played by Toho/Tusuburaya luminary and veteran actor Akihiko Hirata; Student and Professor have a nostalgic warm conversation as the Professor plans a secret expedition of his own soon (which is no indication of anything bad about to happened to the good old certainly have a far longer life man). Later, Chiba and Misaki search for the Nerogiras when they make another bloody discovery; a dead Gudon (an UltraKaiju) whose chest and abdomen was peeled off – seemingly making another confirmation the Fireman and Ultraman Universes are one and the same.
SAF concludes the Beast had enter Japanese Waters, but receive a bulletin of an SOS from a SRType Deep sea Researcher with no contact be returned and had Tadokoro on board; Marine depart but finds the wreck of the SR 2 in the floor, Tadokoro and the four other occupants not having survived. Umino gives a distraught Misaki the last letter Tadokoro wrote to his student explaining further his reasons of going after the Nerogiras, despite the risks.
SAF, using Tadokoro's research on the Nerogiras, begins to use a recording of its roar to call him it out on land, which the Monster response and comes under a barrage of rockets from the JSDF and the Marigon; Weapons prove useless and Nerogiras sprays blood onto the Marigon, blinding their view, forcing to land in the water; Misaki challenges the Beast and transforms into Fireman.
While Fireman starts the battle with a lead, the Beast proves unmatched and blinds the giant Hero with Blood spray, allowing it to take the advantage and takes him down – Nerogiras then steps over Fireman as he walks towards Umino and Mariko; with time running out and reminded of his mentor, Fireman gets another boost for a 2nd round against the beast. Fireman grabs and tosses the Beast away from the humans and rips the tail with a MagmaBeam. An angered Nerogiras dashes towards Fireman fires a FireFlash which destroys of the Monster for good.
After the battle, Misaki stands on a cliff to mourn his Mentor.
