RECAP:
Don't worry, I skipped over some chapters myself :) in the interests of having a (more or less) finished plotline by November 30th.

Anyway, two human trainers are on the loose, and every time they meet much destruction ensues. They seem to have interest in a particular MacGuffin said to reside somewhere, but ....

PARTY MEMBERS:
Azul: He is driven by visions and nightmares of whatever the humans are planning to bring to the world.

OPPONENTS:
Maxei: A cruel human trainer who holds Arlex's mother captive, and has unclear motives.
Mother: Arlex's mother, a Sceptile.
(Mightyena): One of Maxei's pokemon.

Arcei: A second human trainer, and Maxei's brother. They disagree over a lot of things.
(Jolteon): One of Arcei's pokemon, previously owned (and disowned) by Maxei, and definitely likes Arcei better than his former master.
(Kabutops): A second of Arcei's pokemon; Azul has crossed paths with it before and still bears the scars to prove it.
