I hate gen z talk. X.x Just another dialect to make people illiterate. And it shows how stupid and easily influenced the US is by pop culture. (I live here, btw)
I'm sure this skit from SNL is a 100% prediction of the future:

nah, all the lingo he used like no cap, tbh, and lowkey, were all made up by different ppl in diff locations, at diff times. with how online my generation is, concepts spread almost instantly, so slang can spread really easily. most gen z'ers across the country use at least a bit of lingo
Case in point - I'm a month shy of 32 and can perfectly understand the sign on the right...which is really scary: https://www.reddit.com/r/FellowKids.....mpground_sign/
all slang can be considered cringe from another this is part of cultural evolution when it comes to words. A Clock Work Orange is a nice example of that in the way it was written via exposure we learn. Now do we have to use it as such nahh not all the time. Sorry i'm ranting lol
I loled at this because yes I do greatly enjoy imagining these things. It would be literally understanding maybe 2-4 words per 3 sentences at best. God Imagine the look on their faces when they discover that some types of English changes just because we wanted to save money by printing less letters in a word.....I literally would love a Dr Who episodes that just does this XD.
ya know?
now that i am 40..
..i think it's time i take a fresh look at a clockwork orange
i remember appreciating it a fair bit, when i first watched that—
—only The Gods know how long ago: 20? 25 years back?
i appreciated it but, i also remember not understanding most of what i was experiencing
incidentally: the word cringe, itself, has become something of a slang term; and.. ..also, something of a "cringe"-worthy term
indeed: though.. ..technically, something makes me "cringe" at least 7 times a day, every day... ...i don't actually say that word—
—like, at all
fascinating, then, for me: are the slangs / sayings which endure
i feel like, take a powder isn't going anywhere; and, unless the company fucks up too badly, googl(ing) may be with us for a long time

boomzie isn't looking too perturbed nor disenfranchised, for once
that's a good thing
actually, nan: i am surprised you haven't made any worldstar references here — considering this site, likely, is at least partially responsible for perpetuating the phenomenon of motherfuckers' recording-and-broadcasting everything, trying to "be viral"

no capactually, nan: i am surprised you haven't made any worldstar references here — considering this site, likely, is at least partially responsible for perpetuating the phenomenon of motherfuckers' recording-and-broadcasting everything, trying to "be viral"
(though, it has also been my argument: maybe if our
economy wasn't so fucked up, and everyone was
actually doing good in their lives, people wouldn't
be so preöccupied with putting others on blast)
