As promised jakebe’s commission by the deadline (today). His character as a Epic Friar (D&D Cleric with Vow of Poverty) in the act of Ascension, to continue the Fantasy Theme (Also floating!). This one was hard, how do you make a poor friar look Epic? Also I wanted to convey serene faith in the moment of enlightenment, also not easy.

I also took a different style approach to this one then previous character commissions. Instead of do 90% of the work on a tablet in Photoshop, I did all the line work in Pencil and colored it in Photoshop. The result is a more expressive and less rigid form and motion. More like a frame from some animated movie from the 80’s or 90’s. I am very pleased with the turn out (which doesn’t happen often).
