Some information on octokats:
Octokats are just like any typical domestic cat, only they love water. They find nothing better than going for a swim in the ocean, and chasing schools of fish around. An octokat cannot live more than a day without water; Their skin will begin to dry up, crust, and they will get terrible dehydration and heat-stroke without a constant water supply. Octokats are almost always longhaired(though shorthairs aren't unheard of), and can come in any color as a housecat, sometimes with differing hues such as blue, green, red, etc. tinting their fur. Occasionally an octokat will have markings such as brindle, dun, dapple, etc. that other cats do not have. Octokats are docile, playful, and lovable, and are as loyal as any dog to their master(s). But, they can be highly fierce when defending themselves or their masters. Octokats are kept mostly by sailors, lighthouse keepers, and people living near any large body of water.
However, a subspecies of octokats, the squidkat, are quite the opposite. These are unruly and feral- they are unsociable with other animals. Because of their wild and visious nature, squidkats are a favored pet of pirates. Like the octokat, squidkats have an undying loyalty to their single master. Whey will not allow any other human to pet them; if an individual attempts to do so, they can expect a painful suck-and-hooking from the squidkat's tentacles, which sport a talonlike hook on each sucker.
