This is a custom piece that I did back in July that I thought I would post up. The spider in the web was commissioned for a Native American teacher who's beliefs state that he must have several(I believe 7) hand crafted spider symbols upon himself at any time. I'm glad that I was able to make this, it really put my skills to the test.

The image that you see here was physically carved into the leather, then all of the texture was hand tooled over the course of the day. I was quite lucky to have come across a batch of 'nature tand' leather some time back and I'm glad I did.

Nature Tand Leather is a full grain, amber colored tanned leather. Its a fantastic leather that was quite popular some time back as it was more ecologically friendly than most 'veg tan' hides, but as it was more expensive and the primary demographic of the leather has since dropped interest, it has sadly been discontinued.

I did use special sealing method to keep it relatively safe from grime, and should hopefully last my friend's teacher for years to come.
