Alternate Universe Darius, arriving in his new home. Trying new stuff, new tools and just having a lot of fun Wanted to capture that look of new hope one can acquire in starting over. More art for this soon c:
I spent entirely too long on this, raw timelapse of this on Clipstudio is 12 minutes long to give you an idea of the absolute amount of work that went into this. (im in the process of editing it because honestly I spend too damn long on that tree.

"Alternate Universe Darius..." I got that. As for coloring the strip, an artist I followed years ago decided he had to redraw and improve each strip he's already posted. He managed two or three a day, but he stopped posting new material and eventually he and his work vanished. Don't try this at home!
3,000+ pages? I didn't realized you had reached that depth! I didn't intend the comment as a joke, it's a statement of how obsessed some artists are. I didn't intend it as a critique of your work.
One artist I follow has been reposting continuity work he did more than a decade ago. He has clearly marked it as non-canon (or no longer canon) in the description on every single page, but people are still asking him if it's part of the current story. People seem so oblivious/insensitive lately.

I'm not obsessive without knowing my limits. Since I also have to take commissions for a living I need to do my best to avoid burnout, all I really want is for people to appreciate the work I do... especially personal pieces like this one above since I do what feels like, precious little in terms of actual personal work I can dedicate so much time on.
And that's the whole point. You care for the work you produce without letting it take over your life. Nothing annoys me more than someone demanding that an artist do this, that or the other thing, especially the ones who aren't (financially) supportive.
Another cartoonist was taking care of his mother while drawing an inked (but not colored) 2 or 3 times a week. He had some loser demanding he color the comic, too, and even threatening him over it. Suggestions that he pay for his demands got The artist gave up and effectively walked away from the comic.
You've got to do some personal work once in a while or it stops being any fun. That's the kiss of death for any creative enterprise. When it stops being fun, even if it's putting food on the table, it's going to be a drag. I'm sure you've already experienced that at one time or another. That's why you're doing personal art.
