Another trip up into the high peaks of the Blue Ridge Mountains, out along the parkway, I stopped in the bend of a road to observe the rapidly changing light. The clouds weighed heavily in the sky, a storm coming from the west, and the temperatures dropping rapidly forced the clouds down from the sky, landing squarely on the peaks. Light was diffused, soft streaks of light painting over the tops of trees, and the clouds rolled through. Through the misty views the spine of the mountains was revealed, giving you a glimpse into the deep wilds beyond.
