Just tossing this up real quick as a ref for people I'm doing trades with. I'll probably delete it later.

You know, I'm actually not that read up on Fae mythos, which is odd for me considering how obsessed with folklore and mythology I am xD The most I know about Fae are some of the creatures that fit under the category and that iron is bad for them. As for the character, quite possibly, I couldn't say. I have written her to be more supernatural like spirits and elemental beings in various stories, but she's a bit closer to a cheshire cat.
I actually didn't reference any mythology when I drew her. She just kind of appeared out of nowhere. I was drawing a scene containing seven different dragons with a focus on giving them all unique silouhettes, but the other six still resembled what I normally draw. Don't know why this one came out so vastly different, but I've liked it more for that reason :)

Interesting.
I was only wondering if it was a Fae dragon because of the wing shape being vaguely insect-like (resembles dragonfly wings to me) and that's a key trait of most Fae dragons.
The only reason I know this is because I looked a looooooot into cryptozoology (yes that exists :D). But one last question, you said it stood out to you significantly do you think that it's actually a representation of a spiritual guide for you?
I'm a wee bit shamanistic and animistic and the comment made me curious. ^^;

Yeah, I'm not even sure why I chose to do the wings like that. My pencil had a mind of it's own with her whole design ^^' That rarely happens for me.
As for being a "spiritual guide", I honestly couldn't say. As with anything metaphysical I won't rule anything out :)
Her design stands out to me because I can't figure out where she came from. I look at the original sketch and can see exactly what I did with the designs of all the other dragons, but her design is out of left field with no concious inspiration, and yet in my opinion she has the most solid and unique design. Wouldn't mind my pencil taking the reigns like that more often ;)
