Here was the dumbest vehicle I ever put money into - not because it wasn't fun or functional, but because it was a giant cash sucking waste of resources.

2004 truck = $33k
tonneau cover = $700
6 inch lift kit = $1200
38 inch bfg mud tires and polished aluminum rims = $4500
Gear Vendors gear splitting system = $2000
2004 Navigation radio off ebay = $650
14 inch drop chromed ball mount = $125

I took a beating when I sold this monster truck. Lost about $10k in all, had it for all of 6 months.

I should have bought an ATV instead, it would have been FAR more fun. Or better still, gotten an OLD truck to do these mods. It took 2 hours with a pressure washer to clean all this mud off her.
