It seems like this "unlucky" Patamon is one of many Digimon to be affected by a strange virus spreading through the digital world!
The virus seems to influence it's hosts diet, giving them an unceasing appetite for data of any kind, wanting to eat more and more and more! ...Even if their bodies can't take any more~

They stuff themselves silly with everything within reach as they *CcccRREEAAAKkk!!* and *GGGgrrrOOOAaaNN!!!* ominously, limbs and features swelling up more and more, eyeballs PUUUSSSSSHHHHING out from their sockets and becoming overengorged, quivering blimps~ Different Digimon react differently, some react with fear of the evergrowing possibility of their bodies bursting apart like virtual fireworks, whilst others love the tight, comfortable sensation that being a total foodbomb brings about, and wish to push it further~

The only thing thats certain though, is that it's spreading fast, and before long, poofy eyes might just be the new norm around all sorts of digital spaces~
