Finally got around to taking proper photos of this. Left my hand in it for a size reference. This was made to be a wall hanging, but the wire armature as it turns out isn't heavy enough to handle the weight of the piece, so it's cracking. *sad* But it's alright, this is the first one of this type I'd ever made. It turned out heavier than I expected it to. It's unfinished, and I probably won't ever get around to finishing it completely, since it's cracking and I'm lazy. Ohwell. I do love the scales though. Put all of them on individually. It was fun, but it took ages.

A lot of effort did go into it. :) I'm not too upset, I've learned from this piece and have every intention of getting some heavier metal for the armature and either welding or soldering it so it doesn't have any give. This was good practice!
Thank you for your compliment!

Thank you!! ^_^ Hahaha, it's not so much a technique as being VERY patient. I pinch off a TINY ball of sculpey, smoosh it in the place where I want it, and use my nail to flatten it. Voila! Instascales. It does take a long time though, as each scale must be made and applied individually. There were thousands of scales on this sculp. XDD
