Originally when I designed Nuri without much of a traditional face, I did so to take advantage of an element of character design I always really enjoyed, namely working around that kind of limitation to make the character expressive and emotive anyway. At first I thought I was going to mostly have to rely on body language for her and the rest of the Lunibranchs, but once I started testing things I realized what she did have was more expressive than I expected. Still a fun experiment though, and it gets me trying more with unusual character designs.

...I may have just started doing dumb meme/joke things with her by the end, though, I'll admit :y. Also includes the original image that inspired all this, mostly just because there'd be a blank spot on the canvas if I didn't leave it there.
