Dare Rublai the Cubone | Reference Sheet
Had this uploaded on my Inkbunny, but not here. Somehow thought I had uploaded it here when I hadn't. Oh well, here it is now!
This is Dare the Cubone. He's my Pokésona.
Combat level: 27
Ability: Rock Head
Moves known: False Swipe, Bone Club, Swords Dance, Iron Defense
Nature: Hasty (+ Speed, - Defense)
Likes: sweet candy, pork, apples
Dislikes: citrus and sour foods
Originally from Johto, Safari Zone
Normally broody and melancholy, unless around friends and family, or when adventuring. Loves to explore and get all scuffed up exploring the woods, running up and down the beach, rock climbing, cave exploring, and so on. It's just too bad none of those things are around where he lives now.
A small amount of backstory for him is as follows:
I'm going to call the baby variants of Kangaskhans "Rublai", because it fits in with the thematic puns. See, "Kangaskhan" is supposed to be a portmanteau of "kangaroo" and "Genghis Khan", right? Well, I figured that the little ones would be called "joeys" or "roos" or have a name based on that. So then the other half of the name, the Khan part, was puzzling. Until I read about Kublai Khan, one of Genghis's successors. And then it just clicked. Roo + Kublai = Rublai (pronounced ROO-bli).
I explain this, because that's also his family name. And his original Pokémon species. It's just that tragedy struck him and his sister Saige when they were littler, and it made him cross-evolve into a Cubone. It's been a while, though, so he's... he's fine. I promise.
And yes, instead of carrying around his bone prop like a club, he likes to keep it in his mouth as a idle chew toy. He'd wield it as a club, sure, but also like a pipe (he doesn't smoke, but he likes to pretend), a hammer, a stake (using the sharper end), a metaphysical object capable of delivering a False Swipe to an enemy, or what have you.
He's been seen by very close family and friends without his skull helmet on. For the record, the skull doesn't belong to a family member... which raises more questions, but he never provides a straightforward answer, even to his sister.
Hopefully he's likeable?
