The discovery of precursor artifacts on a frontier world always causes a wave of immigration. Researchers, prospectors and surveyors are soon joined by a small army of service and support personal, some of whom will put down roots and form communities that will last long beyond the extraction of any archeological treasures. These two second-generation colonists work at a desalination plant built to supply their planet's capital as their world's economy shifts towards agriculture and manufacturing.
