i have a question, and i do not mean to cause harm or be an asshole, but why do people go out in public with their fursuits? A lot of people around where i live hate that sort of thing, and would probably lynch me for doing so. From learning and storries from friends walking in public, or rather, going to establishments like that is a bad idea. Its fun for the wearer, but, why?

I couldn't tell you the awnser, I was definantly hesitant to do it as well but the people that work there loved it and still do.. plus last time someone messed with me in suit I definantly fucked them up so I don't really care about anyone in public

Some regions are more open minded about it than others. For example, you can fursuit in Times Square in the middle of Manhattan and no one would even blink an eye. Do the same thing in the town square of small town USA, especially in the south, and you're likely to get in trouble.

It's all about knowing your area, what you can get away with, and being responsible about it.

Tomorrow a bunch of fursuiters and myself have been invited to participate in a Christmas parade in a small local town in western Pennsylvania. They asked us to participate last year for the first time and we were met with such a positive outcry that they asked us back again this year.

Sadly living in the south myself, it's truer than your area... I've seen them out a few gay men and women and just about every store, even Wal*mart has refused them services... One was even attacked and had to go to pine bluff because the hospital wouldn't treat him.

Now... Fursuitting.... explaining what a T is or that i am one? I can just about kiss my life buh-bye.

you cant just group the south together.... it depends on who and where it is. I'm in Texas and we even have a con here... a lot of states do actually

just like you can't say California is all rich people or that DC is nothing but politicians...

Still though, Id' rather have a mostly true generalization and be proven wrong in some cases than to have to take a magnifying glass to pick out needles from a hay stack before i call it hay.
