Yup. It's doable...and much needed, unless you are an electric type, but then you wouldn't need such a sword. Fun theory: Maybe the blade can cast "Immunity to Electricity" a few times to make the blade usable only for a limited time, like for a few minutes, but then you need to switch back to another weapon, which forbids to overuse this weapon. 100% isolation is fine and easy tho!
