She loves you, she's just a little shy!
Actually, she had a thorn in her paw and limping, we had to tease her for a little while with the prospect of food in order to get her to cooperate and let us look at her paw. :)

Nothing at all! Either she licked/tugged the thorn out or it just fell out eventually. Those pawpads are really sturdy and it just happens from time to time. Sure, it hurts (as is evident by the limping), but they get rid of thorns rather quick. It's better not to interfere at all with these cats as that would mean sedating them.
