“You are missing someone -a friend or family- not returned from the war, are you not?”
“We were gonna be clerics together, me an’ Eilonwy, y’know? But she ain’t back yet an’ the war’s been n’done a month.”
“My deepest sympathies, young friend. I feel you have a holy pull in your soul. I believe you are called to the service of a higher force, to make good on your strong sense of right and wrong. It is what your loved one would want, yes?“
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I swear I’m gonna end up drawing Spooks comforting all the many characters she meets. She’s just such a lil cinnamon roll~
The day Spooks flew into Gatewatch after the Risen War, her eyes landed on this sorrow-laden-but-trying-to-hide-it kid working in the tavern. Knowing exactly what this particular grief looks like, Spooks quietly observed her until evening, when she could approach the girl and talk.
It started innocuous enough, but turned to the war and its toll on the people of Vaeleryn and Greymoor and their allies. The girl, Hestara, let the story tumble out, and that’s where this piece picks up. Just my two youngest clerics, with many levels of experience (10 levels, to be exact) separating them, having a nice lil heart to heart~
