Fanart for a story called Cats in Victory by David Barr Kirtley. I found Mr Kirtley by reading a collection of zombies stories in which his story 'The Skull Faced Boy' was inside. I did some fanart for that story and, against my better judgment, sent him a link to the image. I didn't expect to hear anything back but within a few hours I was surprised to see a response: "This is awesome! Can I post it on my website?"
I was kinna shocked!
We started chatting and I was very surprised again that he sent me a story that, aside from his editor, no one else had read. It was 'Cats in Victory.' I felt very honored and teased him about it (he had seen my dA page and knew I was a furry) and I did some sketches of some of the characters. What you see is a brain storm I had while doing the other sketches.
This scene shows Tiger and Lion when they first met. This scene does not happen in the story. It's more of a prequel, if you will, how I thought Tiger and Lion met. No name for the little girl, yet, though.
The story has by now been published online and if you are interested, you can check it out here: http://www.lightspeedmagazine.com/f.....ts-in-victory/
Give it a read if you're bored. Its not very long and well worth it, I think.
