Hm. This is quite different, though yes I do agree with those bass hits. The bass I tried was just a straight octave bass going over it which didn't work. If I was going to take it uptempo I'd probably add some other things into it and flesh it out a bit more as the downtempo was more intended for some sort of RnB style singing over it. Filtered percussion loops for one.
