#24 in the 101 Watch Gift Series! Just one left, folks!
Here we have a Griffon/gryphon (whatever) enjoying a pint at the local pub. He seems to be trying to catch your eye from his place at the end of the bar. "Hullo, newcomer!" he says, and offers a lift of the glass. Friendly and mellow fella, this one.
This one is for
jaegungriff, whom I had to poke to get an idea from. >_> I just didn't know what to do! Hopefully, what I came up with will be likeable! :3 I'd originaly started on a griff sitting on a parkbench, relaxing with a cup of coffee... That idea.. Well, I didn't like how it came out, honestly. I might re-work it and post it later.. bleh. This was my favorite idea of the two, anyway.
Hope ya like it, Jae! :D I promise the final will be prettier >_>;
Bar tender and other bar decorations to come in the final. Will also make some fixes to Mr. Gryphie's anatomy.. More specifically, those ARMS.. argh. They're terrible, and I apologize. I also don't think I like his head too much.. It's kinda.. big.. and dome-like.
I do like his jeans though.. Custom tailor-fit to his leg-shape.. and the shirt is fitted to be comfortably warn over wings :O Or so I planned as I was drawing it. I might have to do a detail of that sometime. Fun design work. ;3
Also, must apologize for the dirtiness. I'm lucky this got posted at all o_o;; My scanner started acting really, really odd, and almost wouldn't scan it. -___-;; Sigh..
Random trivia for the day:
Keythong: Some medieval heraldic traditions say that only female griffins have wings. A "male" griffin, called a keythong in a single fifteenth-century English heraldic manuscript, is an anomaly that belongs strictly to a late phase of English heraldry.
Keythongs are said to have gold spikes, like rays of sun, rather than wings.

Yay for random anomalies through history. Interesting, but I think I prefer all my gryffies with or without wings, rather than having "Golden spikes" ...
