Rook is canonically a god now but in an alternative timeline, Rook would've retired from knighthood after saving the world and would live a more quiet life in his hometown village.

I guess it could perfectly reflect his wishes or dreams to be honest
Being a god is an immense responsibility and strain on the mind
Not every being would withstand the weight of such burden not to mention the fact that eternity can errode the mind of previously mortals like the wind or waves of time can destroy rock
Being immortal can be considered to be a curse even at some point
And i feel that gods if they exist sometimes dream about living much simplier and much more free life
As for alternative universe... well every sword sooner or later finds its place above the fireplace and its owner will appreciate the life as it is - calm and without mayhem
"Who was beaten by life, he will achieve more,
A pood of salt who has eaten appreciates honey more.
Who shed tears, he sincerely laughs,
Who died, he knows that he lives."
Wonderful and very serene art!
