School of Visual Arts, New York City. it's 1986 and the comic book is coming out in individual chapters, sometimes delayed, and still far from concluding. I threw together a costume in time for Halloween that year, so I consider myself one of the first. Many thanks to old school buddies Rush Humphrey, Herb Rivera and Chris Allen for helping out on the photoshoot that day. Afterward, Dropped in on Joe Orlando's class via the fire escape and he seemed quite tickled about the costume, even as I confronted him for information on the mask killer, suspecting him. He was an editor at DC Comics and had creative input on the book.
